iCab Rideshare is committed to providing a safe, reliable, and respectful rideshare experience. All drivers must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, use an insured and inspected vehicle, and pass a background check. Discrimination, harassment, and violence are strictly prohibited. Both drivers and passengers can rate each other after each trip. iCab Rideshare sets fares and compensates drivers accordingly. User data is protected and only used to support platform operations. By using the platform, users agree to follow these policies under Ontario law.
iCab Rideshare – Platform Policy
This Platform Policy sets forth the terms and conditions governing the use of the iCab Rideshare transportation network platform ("the Platform"). iCab Rideshare is committed to providing a safe, reliable, and respectful experience for all users, including drivers and passengers.
1. Eligibility
To use the iCab Rideshare Platform as a driver, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Possess a valid driver's license
Use a vehicle that is properly registered, insured, and meets iCab Rideshare's vehicle requirements
Have a compatible smartphone or device
2. Safety
iCab Rideshare prioritizes the safety of all users. We implement the following safety measures:
a. Driver Screening
All driver applicants are subject to a thorough background check, including a review of criminal history and driving records.
b. Vehicle Inspection
All vehicles must pass a detailed inspection to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
c. Insurance Coverage
iCab Rideshare provides commercial auto liability insurance coverage during active use of the Platform.
3. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in any behavior that threatens the safety or dignity of others. The following are strictly prohibited:
Discrimination: Refusing service based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected ground
Harassment: Verbal, physical, or sexual harassment of any kind
Violence or Threats: Any act or threat of physical harm toward another user
4. Ratings and Feedback
After each trip, drivers and passengers may rate one another. iCab Rideshare monitors ratings and feedback to maintain quality and safety.
Drivers with consistently low ratings may be subject to review or deactivation
Passengers who repeatedly violate policies may be suspended or banned
5. Payment and Compensation
Fares are set by iCab Rideshare. Drivers are compensated according to the fare structure and payment terms outlined in their driver agreement and within the Platform.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
iCab Rideshare is committed to safeguarding user privacy:
Data Security: Industry-standard encryption is used to protect personal information
Data Collection: Information is collected solely to operate, improve, and secure the Platform
Data Sharing: We do not share personal data with third parties, except as required by law or to fulfill service obligations
7. Policy Updates
iCab Rideshare reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website or within the mobile application. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
8. Governing Law
This Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. Any disputes arising from or relating to this Policy will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario.
